Irish History by Spencer is a read-only historical information service operated by Spencer Hofmans. It provides access to published historical companion material available on spencerhofmans.com.

Information processed

The service processes only the information necessary to answer a request.

When the service is used through ChatGPT or another compatible AI client, it may receive the specific search term, historical name, book title, or other tool input that the client sends to the service.

The service does not require an account and does not intentionally request or collect names, email addresses, payment information, precise location, government identifiers, health information, passwords, API keys, or other sensitive personal information.

Technical request information, such as network and request metadata, may also be processed automatically by the hosting infrastructure.

How information is used

Information is used only to:

  • process historical searches and return relevant published material;
  • retrieve public historical guide content from spencerhofmans.com;
  • operate, secure and troubleshoot the service; and
  • prevent misuse or technical failure.

The service does not use personal information for advertising, behavioural profiling, targeted marketing, or the sale of personal data.

AI platform data

When Irish History by Spencer is used through ChatGPT or another AI platform, that platform separately processes the user’s conversation under its own privacy policy and terms.

Irish History by Spencer receives only the tool input that the AI client chooses to send to the MCP service. It does not request or reconstruct a user’s complete chat history.

Service providers

The service uses third-party infrastructure necessary to operate:

Cloudflare hosts the MCP service and may process technical request and network information required to deliver and secure requests.

WordPress.com / Automattic hosts the public historical guides from which the MCP service retrieves published content. User search queries are not intentionally sent to WordPress.com; the service retrieves the relevant public guide pages and searches that material within the MCP service.

These providers process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable contractual terms.

Data retention

Irish History by Spencer does not maintain its own database of user queries or create user profiles.

Query content is processed for the purpose of responding to the request and is not intentionally stored by Spencer Hofmans as a separate record.

Cloudflare may retain technical Worker logs for a limited period. Cloudflare currently documents a maximum Workers Logs retention period of 7 days, with shorter retention applying to some plans.

No personal information is retained by Irish History by Spencer for longer than necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

User choices and rights

Users should avoid including personal, confidential, or sensitive information in historical search queries because it is not required for the service to function.

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights relating to their personal information, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection.

Because Irish History by Spencer does not maintain user accounts or a persistent database of search queries, there may be no stored personal information held directly by Spencer Hofmans to retrieve or delete.

Third-party links

The historical guides may contain links to external websites or sources. Those websites operate independently and are governed by their own privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated if the service, its infrastructure, or applicable requirements change. The current version will remain available on spencerhofmans.com.
